2018 was kicked off with below statement from Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook, who has been listening to its users and analysed what type of content influence the well-being positively on and off Facebook. During 2018 the increasingly complicated algorithms of Facebook will yet again be changed – this time with focus on showing content helping you have more meaningful social interactions.
Mark Zuckerberg “One of our big focus areas for 2018 is making sure the time we all spend on Facebook is time well spent. We built Facebook to help people stay connected and bring us closer together with the people that matter to us. That’s why we’ve always put friends and family at the core of the experience. Research shows that strengthening our relationships improves our well-being and happiness.”
What does this mean for advertisers?
Well, we can only guess. But if succesfull, we at Prettysocial see this as a great development. Making sure posts from suppliers of great content, targeted to an interested target-group from influencers they trust, not to drown in fake news and click-bait.
Wether organic or paid this is the key; Truly Engaging and Relevant Content. As long as we stay focused on that and are stay vigilant about correct targeting and frequency capping we are sure Facebook will continue to be the number one platform for advertisers.
